Hands Across Middlesex Interfaith Outreach, Inc.
December 2011 Statistics
Hands Across Middlesex has as its mission to provide services to eligible residents in
Middlesex County and that is exactly what it did in December through its variety of
programs.
Chair Davelin Gresham reports that approximately 40 families visited and shopped each
week in December in the Clothing Closet.
Treasurer, Tina Ammons, reports that 6 eligible clients received financial assistance in
December, with a total of $1,200.00 provided to these clients to assist with paying power
bills and heating oil and propane bills.
Food Pantry Chair, Linda Cryer, reports the Food Pantry had its biggest Food Pantry
distribution day on December 13th with almost 10,000 lbs of food distributed to almost
1000 individuals from approximately 300 families. .The total distribution in December
reached almost 30,000 lbs. Back-Pack-Buddies received the regular weekly food
back-packs plus additional food back-packs for the holidays. Toiletry items were also
distributed with the food backpacks.
The Hands Furniture Barn distributed numerous pieces of furniture, appliances and other
household items to eligible clients in December.
Ramps Committee Chair Bob Murphy reported that no new ramps were constructed in
December.
Housing Repair Committee Chair Cullen Walker reported that one project, a new roof on a
wellhouse, was completed in December and three projects are lined up to begin in early
January.
The Christmas dinner preparation and delivery was a great success. Thanks again to all
the volunteers that make this special project possible.

Sunday Jan.15: Hands Board of Directors Meeting
Zoar Baptist Church. 3:30. The two amendments that will come
before the Board for a vote, as presented at the Dec meeting
are:
1. Add to Article II Voting
Board members shall have the option of exercising the right to
designate a member of the Board of Directors as their proxy to
cast their vote and/or to speak to an issue before the Board in
the event said Board Member shall be absent from a meeting.
Proxy designations shall be authorized for a specific meeting
and/or a specific issue and may or may not direct the proxy as
to how to vote.
2. Change the last sentence in Article V Section B to read:
All policies and procedures of all committees must be submitted
to the Executive Committee and approved by the Board of
Directors.

NOTE: The Clothing Closet will be open to clients on Tuesdays
from 10 AM to 3 PM.
